On the afternoon of September 12, the Opening Ceremony of Silk Road School(2019-2020) was held in Suzhou Campus. Freshmen from Egypt, Australia, Pakistan, Georgia, South Africa, Vietnam and other countries and regionsgathered in the beautiful Dushu Lake of Suzhou to open a new chapter in China.

MariamiKvirkvia, Silk Road School students from Georgia, speaks on behalf of the Silk Road School. She said that the “ Belt and Road” initiative proposed by President Xi Jinping portrays a happy, peaceful and harmonious future on the basis of full respect for history and national culture. Through two years of study, she hopes to have a deeper understanding of China's development path, development model and development experience, seek opportunities in the future, and make more contributions to the development of her country and China.

After the Opening Ceremony, Silk Road School will carry out a series of student activities to help them adapt to Suzhou life more quickly, enhance their sense of identity and belonging to the school, and lay a solid foundation for the next two years of study and life.
